Top tips for better meetings

• Don't avoid the elephant in the room! Have the courage to tackle difficult issues otherwise decisions risk coming unstuck after a meeting.
• Accept that people will be in different places as a group goes through change. Allow time for people to share different positions so you take them with you.
• Think about energy as you plan your agenda – give a variety of formats and allow plenty of breaks. Keep people active around lunchtime.
• To enable informed decisions, be prepared to 'go slow to go fast'. Allow time for sharing context and perspectives before discussing solutions.
