Meeting Magic announces a learning programme that extends beyond the classroom
7th July 2011
From September 2011, meeting facilitation company, Meeting Magic will be extending the in-house training programme it offers clients. The aim is to help organisations to achieve more from customised training by extending learning far beyond the classroom.
The Meeting Magic in-house training programme will offer a mix of the following elements:
- Each delegate will be introduced to a named trainer ahead of the course.
- Pre-work will be agreed between the delegate and the trainer via email and teleconference.
- Each delegate will belong to a tutorial group of approximately six to eight students.
- The Meeting Magic Method Workbook* will be an integral part of the training programme.
- Membership of an interactive online environment where delegates can share knowledge and learning.
Every in-house training programme can be customised to meet the specific learning needs and objectives of an organisation. In-house training can be further tailored for functional teams within organisations, for example, Marketing or Research and Development.
Student to trainer ratio is fundamental. There will always be sufficient Meting Magic trainers to ensure the student to trainer ratio does not exceed six to eight students. These clusters of six to eight students will break off into tutorial groups for focussed learning.
Katherine Woods, founder of Meeting Magic explains, “when we facilitate client meetings, we know trust is crucial to achieving strong outcomes. The same applies to training. By introducing each delegate to a named trainer before the course begins, we’re helping to build a rapport that can develop during the training itself and be of benefit post-training.”
Katherine continues, “we want to support delegates with the practical application of what they learn in the class room. Helping to create a bond between the delegates and their trainer coupled with working in small tutorial groups are two ways we hope to support continued learning.”
Meeting Magic has run in-house and advanced facilitation training for the past decade. This new offering is a distillation of this decade of experience coupled with the best elements from Meeting Magic’s own internal boot camp training programme.
Meeting Magic will continue to run its Advanced facilitation training on a regular basis. This programme attracts a range of external organisations.
*The Meeting Magic Method is an A3 size workbook designed to take meeting planners through a practical seven step approach to meeting design. The book includes detailed explanations, instructions and tips for each step as well as blank templates, example completed templates, checklists and resources for further development.
