Advanced facilitation training

Meeting Magic offers a two day Advanced Facilitation Training, designed to help experienced facilitators to deepen their insight and develop their skills. It explores how graphic facilitation can be used to support effective working in even the most challenging situations and how the language and actions of the facilitator impact the group’s experience and effectiveness.

 

Course outline

Before the training Meeting Magic will explore your existing practice with you and work through the Meeting Magic Method ™ in order that the face to face experience can focus on Advanced Facilitation.

The face to face training helps to develop:

  • Facilitation skills for complex situations
  • An understanding of the root causes of conflict in groups and tools and strategies to transform it
  • An insight into the processes that underlie the work done in groups.
  • Tools and techniques for managing information to maximise understanding.

 

The two day training uses a blend of input, discussion, group work, practice and feedback from Meeting Magic and the other developing facilitators within a supportive environment that encourages mutual learning. The trainers not only explain the theory: they also review real life situations, bringing the theory to life by exploring the options available for effective facilitation. You will have opportunities to practice ‘on your feet’ and learn how to confidently use graphics to support your facilitation practice.

The two days are structured around 4 key questions:

  • How can facilitators focus the group on a common purpose?
  • How can facilitators encourage trust, respect and openness?
  • How can facilitators support clarity of understanding?
  • How can facilitators support decision making
